Descaling - Anti-limescale program
Descale your appliance regularly using a high-quality and suitable commercial descaling agent. In
doing so, refer to the manufacturer's information, especially with regard to the subsequent mandatory
cleaning step using clear water. Suitable descaling agents contain inhibitors that protect appliances
against damage to seals and surfaces, do not cause any deposits and are also of neutral taste.
You must not use any agents for descaling that are unsuitable for the respective appliance (such as
pure vinegar or citric acid-based products). Our warranty does not cover damage caused by using
unsuitable descaling agents or failure to comply with the descaling instructions. Please keep descaling
agents out of the reach of children and make sure that you do not inhale any of the steam that is
emitted during descaling.
▪ Insert the paper filter and place the jug in the machine. Larger limescale residues may accumulate
in the paper filter, thus preventing the outlet valve from clogging.
▪ Add the quantity of descaling agent to the water tank as per the manufacturer's instructions, and
top up with tap water to the 10-cup mark (version with glass jug) or to the 8-cup mark (version
with thermal jug).
▪ To start the descaling, press the
symbol and hold it down for around 3 seconds. An audible
sound confirms that you have selected the descaling option. The descaling programme is
automatically started when you press the Start/Stop symbol. To ensure thorough cleaning, you
must not interrupt the descaling programme.
▪ Note that the descaling process takes longer than the normal brewing process and may last quite a
while. Wait until the water has run completely through and the coffee machine switches off.
Important: Then to rinse, fill the tank to the 10-cup mark (version with glass jug) or to the 8-cup
mark (version with thermal jug) with fresh tap water and allow this to run through the machine.
