6. RULES FOR SAFE OPERATION
Read the operator's manual carefully. Be thorou-
ghly familiar with the controls and proper use of
the unit. Know how to stop the unit and shut off
the engine. Know how to unhook a harnessed unit
quickly.
Never allow anyone to use the unit without proper
instruction. Be sure the operator wears the eye,
head and hearing protection.
Keep the area clear of bystanders, children and
pets. Never allow children to operate or play with
the unit.
Move the stop switch to "stop" position when the
engine idles, here by ensuring it is reliable befo-
re working. Only may continue to operate the unit
when stop switch is in good condition.
Hold the olive shaker with the right hand on the tri-
gger handle and the left hand on the front handle.
Keep a firm grip with both hands while in opera-
tion.
Use the shoulder harness at all times. Adjust both
harness and harness clamp on the unit so that the
unit hangs a few inches above ground level. Har-
ness the unit on the right side of your body.
Make sure the working head is off ground when star-
ting.
Never use the machine when the operator is tired,
ill or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
Dangerous: Never attempt to stand on
the tree or on a chair or similar support
level to operate this machine.
Dangerous: Never operate the machi-
ne with the shaft tube having an angle
of more than 45 degree with the hori-
zontal plane.
Remove falling fruit and branches in sections, be
careful of not being struck by falling fruit, branches
or branches that, having hit the ground, rebound.
Always keep firm footing and balance during ope-
ration.
