6. Operation
Lifting
Make sure that the drum transporter/lifter is in the lowered position (for lowering see point 7.3). Turn the
discharge lever (6) clockwise until it stops. Drive the drum transporter or lifter up to the drum. By pumping
movements with the towing handle you can now lift the retaining mechanism to the required height. To be able to
pick up the drum the top rim of the drum must be between the teeth of the grippers (8) and the upper edge of the
frame. The grippers close automatically. Pull on the spherical lever to lock the grippers securely. The drum is now
held securely. Further pumping movements with the handle now lift the drum.
Transporting
The drum must be only slightly raised for transporting. Pull or push on the tow handle to move it to a new location.
Unloading/releasing
By turning the discharge lever (6) anticlockwise the drum is lowered.
Please only turn the handle slowly as rapid turning = rapid lowering could damage the drum!
When the drum is on the ground again you can release the grippers by pressing the ball lever (7).
Faults
If the device does not lift to maximum height, this can have various causes.
Possibly there are air bubbles in the hydraulic system or the oil level is too low.
Remove the air from the hydraulic system, check the oil level and if applicable refill with oil.
In order to do this the lifting devices has to be taken off beforehand (see 7.1)

7. Maintenance and servicing

The moving components of the product must be checked regularly for function and ease of movement and if
required relubricated with commercially-available lubricating grease.
The grippers (8) must be checked daily particularly for wear and if necessary replaced.
Check the device regularly for leaking seals.
In the event of damage and particular incidents that could influence the carrying capacity and also after repairs an
extraordinary testing by a qualified person is to be carried out.
