Cleaning and checking
After the end of the work, the equipment should be cleaned from dirt. This gives a longer service
life for personal protective equipment and enhances your personal safety. Clean with warm water
(max. 30°C) and a mild washing powder, dry in the shade. Clean equipment has a longer service
life. Store in a ventilated place, protected from direct insulation. Fabric must be protected from
acid and lye. If fabric has been in contact with such liquids or vapours, clean them immediately.
Furthermore, the equipment must be checked prior to next using it. Fabric must be protected
from temperatures above 60°C. Look for any melting on the straps. In such cases, a specialist
should be consulted prior to next using the equipment. Spots from welding beads are considered
as melting. Prevent any corrosion risk as well as exposure to extreme heat or cold.
The metal components should be regularly cleaned and oiled using a low viscosity oil (e.g., WD
40). The equipment should be stored in a dry condition in a closed metal case or a PVC bag.

Warning notices
If there is any doubt about its safety, or if the equipment has already been used in con-
nection with a fall, the complete equipment should not be used again. Personal protective
equipment that has been used in a fall may only be re-used with the written approval of an
expert.
The equipment may only be used by fully trained competent personnel or it should be
used under the direct supervision of experts.
Prior to using the equipment, consideration must be given on how to achieve a safe res-

This equipment may only be used within the defined conditions of use and for its intended
purpose.
Personal protective equipment against falls from a height must be provided to the user in
person.
Observe the correct combination when using the complete Personal protective equip-
ment; the incorrect combination of various components of the equipment may impair its
safe functioning.
Select an anchoring device (minimum strength 10 kN) so that the risk of a free fall and the
falling height are restricted to a minimum.
When reselling such equipment to a third country, the reseller must, for the safety of the
user, provide operating, maintenance, checking and repair instructions in the language of
that country.
Regular inspection must only be carried out by an expert who has to strictly observe the
