7.3 Maintenance of Spark Plug
Please do the job with a special
tool
7.3.1 Disconnect the spark plug
cap and the spark plug, clear the
dirt around the spark plug (Figure
39)
7.3.2 Remove the spark plug with
a special tool (Figure 40)
7.3.3 Check the spark plug, if the
insulator is broken, have the spark plug replaced. Do away with carbon fouling
around the spark plug with a metal brush. (Figure 41)
7.3.4 Check the spark plug clearance to see if it is between 0.7-0.8mm, adjust it if
necessary (Figure 42)
7.3.5 Re-mount the spark plug and its cap. (Figure 43)
Spark Plug recommended: F7TC
NOTE Screw in half round more after the spark plug compresses its washer if
a new spark plug is used. Screw in one-fourth round more only if
the old one is used.
CAUTION The spark plug must be tightened securely, or it may result in
machine damage owing to over-heating.
