Position the edge to band the first piece: Release the pressure
from the pressure roller on the edge by pressing lever I (Fig.
4.3). Pull edge J (Figs. 4.3, 4.4, 4.5) back until it passes blade K
(Figs. 4.4 and 4.5), pulling on cylinder B (Fig. 4.3) until closing
J
blade K (Fig. 4.5). Push edge J back towards the inside, until
it stops against blade K (Fig. 4.5) and release lever I (Fig. 4.3),
which held the roller in place. The edge is now ready and in
K
position to begin operation.
4.2.1 Excess of the edge in the rear. The excess edge on
the back of the board needs no adjustment, since it comes
from the factory pre-set to the correct measurement.
4.2.2 Excess of the edge in the front. The excess edge on
(Figure 4.5)
the front of the board also leaves the factory pre-set to
approximately 10 mm and needs no adjustment.
If the excess front edge becomes noticeably shorter, the edge
may be poorly glued at the start of the board. On the other
hand, if the excess is increased by too much, it may make
contact with blade K (Fig. 4.6) on the end trimmer, preven-
ting it from cutting off the excess amount.
