Install the housing FDCH222 outside the
area with a potentially explosive
atmosphere!
Description
A maximum of three line adapters (Ex) FDCL221-Ex
can be installed in the housing FDCH222 on one
U-rail TS35.
Two additional devices, e.g., FDCL221 line separators
can also be installed in the housing.
Mounting (Fig. 1)
Secure the supplied U-rail (3) TS35 in the

housing (4) with two screws (2).

Install the housing (4) on a level surface with four
screws.
3.
Install the line adapters (Ex) FDCL221-Ex on the
U-rail (3) TS35 using the supplied end brackets.
Observe the minimum creepage distances according
to document A6V10349626.
The correct installation of the devices on a U-
rail TS35 is described in document
A6V10349626.
If required, install other devices such as terminals

and end brackets on the U-rail (3) TS35.

Observe the following rules during installation:

Improper cabling
Risk of explosion

Never route detector line cables and
cables which lead to the intrinsically
safe area through the same cable gland.
·
Observe the minimum creepage
distances during installation.
·
All detector line cables are lead into or out of
the housing through a cable gland. All cables
which lead to the intrinsically safe area are lead
out of the housing through the other cable
gland.
·
Lead all detector line cables through the cable
glands in the area not at risk. Lead all cables
which lead to the intrinsically safe area through
the cable glands in the Ex area. Maintain a
minimum creepage distance of 50 mm between
the two groups of cables.
·
Use the supplied cable grippers (6) to close the
housing openings that are not required.
Close the housing (4, Fig. 1) with the housing cover
(1, Fig. 1) once the installation work is complete.
