The following procedure will make it easier to remove
your SelectTech dumbbell from its packaging.

The dumbbell is heavy. Ask for assistance if necessary.
• Open the top flaps of the shipping box and remove the
upper section of foam. See 1.
• Carefully lay the shipping box on its side so that the
base of the dumbbell faces down. See 2.
• Reach inside the box with both hands and locate the
handles on each end of the base. See 3.
• Using the handles, carefully pull the dumbbell out of the
foam and place on floor.
• You may now remove the plastic bag. See 4.
When moving the dumbbell assembly, use the handles that
are molded into each end of the base.

Note: If the dumbbell assembly is to be used for retail
display, leave the reusable strap intact. Otherwise,
remove the strap before use.
Restraint strap
In a retail display setting, the restraint strap allows enough
movement for demonstration, but prevents damage to
the unit and helps to avoid dropping and/or misuse by
consumers.
