4. CALMING SECTIONS
· A straight calming section of pipe with the same nominal dia-
meter as the meter must be fitted before and after Woltmann
meters. The length of this pipe section must be at least 3 times
the nominal diameter.
· No calming section is necessary after compound water meters
(WPV).
· A calming section of 5 D is necessary if pipe elbows are fitted
before the meter.
· If the specified calming sections cannot be provided, it is recom-
mended that a jet regulator is fitted.
· The water meter coupling is sufficient as a calming section for
multi-jet impeller meters and rotary piston meters.

5. FAULT CLEARANCE

If a negative flow rate is indicated, check and correct the direction
of the meter.
Remove the meter and check whether the impeller rotates or the
counter registers by blowing into the meter. If not, the meter must
be replaced.
Error codes:
C1 CRC error RAM –> Equipment defect, replace
F4 Flow sensor defect –> Equipment defect, replace
F5 Condenser for communication empty –> Try again after a few
minutes
