HOW TO ASSIGN A STATIC IP ADDRESS TO THE CAMERAS
If the IP camera is configured in DHCP mode it is advisable to change the camera address from dynamic to static to
prevent loss of connection between NVR and camera.
To change the camera address type, install the "IP Discovery" software on the CD provided with the Urmet Cloud
camera or the CD provided with the NVR. Once installed, run the program on Windows [Start
Programs
Network
camera
IP Discovery]. The IP cameras detected on the network will be automatically listed as shown in the figure:
Select a camera from the list and press "Setup" on the top to make the network configuration window appear:
Fill in "User Name" and "Password" (default: admin/admin) and then the "IP Address", "Subnet Mask", "Default
Gateway", "Primary DNS address" and "Secondary DNS address" fields. Confirm the existing parameters or enter
new ones. Finally, press the "Update" button again to save the aforesaid static network parameters of the camera.
IMPORTANT: before installing a static IP address to the camera it is advisable to make sure that this address:
- has not yet been assigned to another device on the LAN, e.g. by using the [ping IP address] command in the MS-DOS
command window of PC with Windows operating system
- is not in the range of IP addresses reserved by the DHCP server of the router (see the instruction manual of your
router).
