5.6. Hypertension Indicator
The colored bar on the left-hand edge of the display is the hypertension range.
The black triange on the left hand side of the screen will shift depending upon
whether the readout value is within the normal (green), borderline (yellow) or
danger (red) range.
The classification is based on standards established by the National Institutes
of Health JNC7, 2003. Refer to the chart in section 2.2 of this instruction man-
ual for details of the classifications.
With each reading, a corresponding black triangle is displayed to the right of
the hypertension indicator.
• If your triangle is in the green zone, your measurement is "Normal,"
according to NIH standards.
• If your triangle is in the yellow zone, your measurement is "Pre-Hypertension."
• If your triangle is in the orange zone, it is "Stage 1 Hypertension."
• If your triangle is in the red zone, it is "Stage 2 Hypertension."
