Knee positioning/support pillow
lateral position in care, rehabilitation and at home.
Use
This special cushion provides the necessary support to properly relieve the hips, to balance the pelvis height (slight ab-
duction of the thigh), and to relieve the knees (prevention of pressure points on and around the knee joint and medial
condyle) in a lateral position. The back of the knees should not be covered and the knees should be able to move/
bend to a certain extent.

Indications
I
Side sleepers who wish to avoid or who have been advised by medical professionals to avoid internal
rotation of the hip joint (joint arthrosis, endoprosthesis, TEP)
I
Side sleepers with lumbar spine problems whose legs must be parallel, (problems can increase with even
a slight rotation of the lumbar spine when the upper leg is placed on the lower one)
I
Side sleepers who feel uncomfortable with their knees on top of each other
I
Targeted postoperative care e.g. after hip endoprosthesis to prevent internal rotation
(danger of dislocation)

Prevention of painful hip rotation in cases of acute pain e.g. bursitis (inflammation of a bursa)
I
Supine position: Prevention of adduction (depending on symptoms)
Contraindications
I
Use with non-compliant patients (patients with limited cognitive ability) only under supervision from
medical professionals to avoid constriction from the straps, moisture build-up and obstructions in venous
or lymphatic backflow.

Knee arthrosis: leverage of the lower leg in a varus alignment could further strain a previously
damaged inner meniscus.

Care
Cover: cotton and polyester blend, removable, machine washable at 40°C.
Pillow: polyurethane foam, hand wash with mild detergent, dry carefully turning several times.
