1. GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
1.1 Read the precautions given in this manual carefully as they contain
important information regarding safe installation, use and maintenance.
After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is undamaged.
For future reference, keep the manual safely in a dry place away from direct
sunlight until the machine is disposed of at the end of its life.
Packaging materials made from plastic, expanded polystyrene, corrugated
cardboard etc. are recyclable. These materials are potentially hazardous and
must be kept out of the reach of children, and must be disposed of correctly.
Before connecting the appliance, ensure that the electrical specifications
indicated on the label at the back of the appliance are compatible with the
mains power supply.
1.2 If the plug fitted to the appliance is incompatible with the mains outlet socket,
have the plug replaced with a suitable component by professionally qualified
personnel. In the case of plug replacement, also have a qualified professional
check that the cross section of the plug cable is suitable for the current
absorption of the appliance. The use of adaptors, multiple sockets and
extension leads is not recommended. If their use is necessary, use only
single/multiple adaptors and extension leads which comply with applicable
safety legislation, taking particular care not to exceed the power consumption
limit specified on single adaptors and extensions, and the maximum limit
specified on multiple adaptors.
1.3 Using any electrical appliance always requires the observance of a few basic
rules:
Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
Do not use the appliance barefooted.
Never use the appliance near sinks, wash basins, baths or other exposed
sources of water.
Use extreme caution when using extension leads in bathrooms.
Do not pull the power cable or the appliance to disconnect the plug from the
socket.
Never leave the appliance exposed to the weather (rain, sun etc.)
The use of the appliance by persons with reduced or impeded motor or
sensory capacities, or with reduced cognitive capacities (including children),
is prohibited unless such persons are under supervision or have been
specifically instructed in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
