Fire smoke must be able to reach the RWM in an unhindered manner. This is
particularly important in apartment renovation and fixtures. The RWMs must be
located at least 60 cm away from all objects. In the event of a shorter distance the
surroundings monitor signals this (see Chapter "Surroundings Monitor"). If the fur-
niture reaches up to the ceiling, than each section of the room must be equipped
with a RWM.
If changing the room use (e.g. a living room becomes a bedroom), the existing
installation must be checked with regard to adherence to the regulations and
adapted as necessary.
This is also valid if sound propagation is hindered, e.g. by large room partitions or
sound-absorbing materials.
If it becomes necessary to change the installation location, please contact the landlord or
the house administration.
The RWMs should only be installed by a specialist. The service technician will stipulate the
installation location in accordance with the valid regulations. Do not remove or relocate
the RWM yourself.
The distance from lamps, uncovered lines, room dividers, walls, beams, ceiling carrier
joists, room corners etc. must be at least 60 cm. - Please ALWAYS NOTE IF CHANGES IN
THE INSTALLATION HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT!
In case of narrow conditions, for example in the hallway, the value for environmen-
tal monitoring can be reduced!
