is unfortunately no possibility to save the position of the last played song after switching off!

- For repeated play-back of one or several titles press the button "Repeat" while play-back was stopped. The DMP offers
3 different modes which can be activated one by one by pressing the "Repeat" button for several times:

The Hama DMP100 MP3 player can operate as an external card reader in connection with a computer having an USB port. This
possibility is recommended in order to copy MP3 data onto the memory card, if you have not connected a suitable card reader
to your system.

3-1 Installation under Windows ME / 2000 / XP or higher:
-
Under Windows ME/2000/XP or higher no additional driver is required. After the MP3 player will be connected to
an activated USB port at your computer by using the provided USB cable, the DMP100 will be detected and
installed automatically.
3-2 Installation under Windows 98SE:
-
Under Windows 98SE, you first have to insert the provided driver CD Rom. Now click at ⇒ Start ⇒ Execute...
and enter "D:\Setup.exe" (where D: should be the drive letter of your CD-/DVD-Rom drive) or click at
"Search..." and choose the file mentioned above. ⇒ OK ⇒ Next ⇒ The required driver is now copied from the
CD. Now choose "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click at ⇒ Finish ⇒ in order to restart your
computer. After the restart please remove the CD Rom from the drive. Now you can connect the MP3 player to
a free USB port in your computer by using the provided USB cable. Now the DMP100 will be detected and
installed automatically.
CAUTION: Please note that under Windows 98 the drivers have to be installed BEFORE the DMP100 is connected.
3-3 Copying of data onto the memory card:
-
After the MP3 player is connected to your computer a new drive is shown in the desk top Explorer. Now insert a
memory card in the DMP100. Afterwards you can copy files onto the new drive like in the usual way known from
your Floppy disk- and HDD-drives.
CAUTION: Make sure that the data transfer has ended before your remove the memory card from the MP3 player or you
unplug the MP3 player. Otherwise a loss of data is possible. Always use the function "Eject" (click right on the new drive symbol)
of the Windows Explorer in order to remove the memory card and the function "Remove hardware" (right-click at the little green
arrow beside the Windows clock) in order to disconnect the MP3 player from the computer.

4) Problem solution:

Problem: The play-back stops after a few minutes and it is shown an empty battery although I have inserted a new
battery.
Solution: Unfortunately it can happen that the DMP100 is not compatible with some memory cards available in
market. In this case, if it is possible, try to use a memory card of another supplier with the MP3 player. If the problem
is not solved thereby, please contact the Service Hotline of Hama GmbH.
Problem: It is not possible to play-back other music data (e.g. WMA) as MP3.
Solution: The Hama MP3 player is a mere play-back device for MP3 data. Other formats can not be played with this
player. Please convert these files to standard MP3 files.
Problem: The buttons won't work.
Solution: Check if the "Hold" mode is activated and deactivate this if necessary (see 2-2 Play-back of MP3 data)
Problem: The play-back time is too short using one battery.
Solution: As different memory cards in operation have a differently high current consumption, in the worst case it
could happen that you just can reach a play-back time of about 30 minutes e. g. with a Secure Digital memory card
with a very high capacity. To get the optimum performance of the DMP100 we recommend to use therefore a Hama
Secure Digital card or a Hama MMC card with an capacity of up to 128 MB. Herewith you can reach an average play-
back time of about 4-6 hours (depending also on the type, age or on the producer of the used battery).
