11. Automated Learning Process./
Activating Code.
CAUTION: The remote control transmitter can be
programmed to multiple receivers or fans. If this is not
desired, turn wall switch off to any other programmable
receiver or fan.
Remove battery cover from backside of remote control
transmitter.
Set the code on the remote control transmitter by sliding
code switches 1 through 4 to your choice of up or down
position. (Factory setting is all up. Do not use this position).
Use a small screwdriver or ballpoint pen to slide firmly up
or down.
Locate dimmer switch to the right of the code switches
labeled with a "D" and an "X". Set dimmer switch to the
"ON" (D) position only if using incandescent bulbs. Set
dimmer to "OFF" (X) position if using compact fluorescent
(CFL) bulbs.
NOTE: Most compact fluorescent bulbs are not
compatible for use with dimmer control.
Install 9-volt battery (sold separately) in transmitter.
Restore electrical power. Within 30 seconds after restoring
the power, press and hold the "OFF" button on the remote
control transmitter for 5 seconds or until light on fan
blinks twice. Proceed to Section 12 to verify that the
automated learning process is complete.
Re-attach the battery cover.
IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to remote control
transmitter, remove the battery if not used for long
periods.
PLEASE NOTE: This remote control transmitter is
equipped with 16 code combinations to prevent possible
interference from or to other remote units such as garage
door openers, car alarms or security systems. If you find
that your fan and light kit go on and off without using
your remote control, simply change the combination code
on your remote control. If you do change the combination
code, turn power off, remove battery cover from back of
remote control transmitter and repeat the steps above.
