Operation: Check that the opening and closing system is operational by working the lock. When the fall

arrester is open, check that the directional fail-safe device is operational, as well as the cam spring by
moving the cam. Complete a visual check of the inside of the fall arrester's body.
When the fall arrester is closed and mounted on a 14-16 mm diameter stranded rope, check that is
slides up and down properly. Check that the device does not slide on the rope when the locking cam is
engaged. Check the operation of the locking system on the rope; when it is engaged, sliding on the rope
should become difficult.
Anchor line: If there is an anchor line, inspect it following the directions on the rope verification sheet.

Energy absorber (depending on model): For devices with model no. FA 20 100 00B, the energy

absorber must be present. Check it using the instructions on the rope verification sheet.
Connector: If there is a connector, inspect it following the directions on the connector verification sheet.

State of wear: Evaluate the state of wear, keeping the above inspections in mind, as well as the
product's general appearance.
