Changing the fork offset
The offset [A] of the fork (center of fork legs - center of steering head bearing)
can be set to 33 or 35 mm, as required. In this way, handling can be even
more closely adapted to the race course.
You can see which offset has been set after removing the steering head screw.
If the marking [B] is at the front, the offset is 33 mm. This setting will give
A
you better riding stability on fast race courses.
If the marking [B] is at the rear, the offset is 35 mm. This setting will give
you better handling in tight curves.
B
To adjust the offset, remove the front wheel and take off the front fender.
1
Remove the screw of the headlamp mask and take off the headlamp mask.
Remove the clamp screw of the hand brake cylinder and attach the hand brake
cylinder to the left fork leg using a cable tie or similar aid to avoid kinking
the brake line.

O-ring, upper triple clamp and steering head screw. Tighten the collar screw
[2] of the lower triple clamp to 60 Nm. Mount the fork legs and tighten the
clamp screws of the lower triple clamp to 10 Nm in 3 cycles.
Adjust the steering head bearing so it is free of play (see "Checking and adjus-
ting the steering head bearing") and tighten the clamp screws of the upper
triple clamp to 15 Nm in 3 cycles.
2
Mount the front fender and tighten the screws to 10 Nm. Mount the hand
brake cylinder and tighten the screws to 10 Nm. Mount the headlamp mask.
Mount the front wheel (see "Removing and mounting the front wheel" in the
owner's manual).
ALL SCREWS AND NUTS MUST BE TIGHTENED TO THE SPECIFIED TORQUE VALUES
USING A TORQUE WRENCH. IF SCREWS AND NUTS ARE NOT TIGHTENED SUFFI-

PONENTS MAY BE DAMAGED.
