About Gliding Foot
Use the presser foot to sew over different levels of fabric
especially when hemming Jeans.
■ Sewing machine settings when
using the gliding foot
CAUTION
●
Layers must not exceed 8mm in
thickness. Do not force fabric
layers under the foot.
Doing so could break the needle
and cause an injury.
●
Use this presser foot for straight
stitch (center needle position) only.
Not doing so could break the
needle and cause an injury.
●
Special care is required around the
sewing machine needle. Not doing
so could cause an injury.
Note: Do not sew without placing fabric under the
presser foot. Doing so could damage the foot.
Fabric:
For medium-heavy weight fabrics
Maximum thickness for denim sewing
Soft denim (12oz) × 12 layers, Soft denim (14oz) × 9
layers, Hard denim (12oz) × 9 layers
Stitch selection:
Straight stitch (center needle position)
Stitch length: 0.4cm
Sewing speed: Medium speed
Recommended Needle:
Denim needle (No. 110/18)
Recommended Thread:
Cotton or Polyester No. 30*
* The thickness of the thread varies depending on the
manufacturers.
The included thread is the maximum thickness that
can be sewn with this sewing machine (equivalent
to #30).
Upper thread tension dial: +3-+5
* The upper thread tension depends on the type of
fabric and thread being used. Please do a test sew.
* When setting the thread tension dial to a higher
number, turning the dial will become harder.
Lowering the presser foot allows dial to turn more
smoothly.
