14 MAINTENANCE

It is good practice, especially when there is very hard water in the water mains, to perform
inspection and cleaning procedures at periodic intervals.
Be very careful with the heating coils (the element that heats the steam generator) and the
level probes

14.1.1 Safety thermostat

The machine is equipped with a safety thermostat (only machine models with steam generators, meaning with self-generated steam)
that interrupts power to the steam generator heating coils when the temperature of the heating coils exceeds a certain limit.
Exceeding this limit could cause damage to the heating elements. To restart the appliance you must eliminate the causes (the
display will show the error message: "E40: Overheating", refer to paragraph 11.5 regarding alarm messages).

14.2 Weekly checks

14.2.1 Anti-scale product

Periodically check the level of anti-scale product contained in the drum (when present) located in the compartment below the wash
basin. A label near the cap indicates the type of liquid contained in the drum (see picture I on page IV appendix I). A message on the
display warns when the liquid is getting low and when it is totally finished (see paragraph 11.5 regarding alarm messages).
Moreover, the machine has a volumetric meter, which controls the liquid passing. This is another control system: the meter stops the
working cycle and the display will show an alarm every time that the dispenser pump doesn't work well or the liquid is totally finished.
For more information regarding the anti-scale product consult chapter 9 of this manual.
Recommended product: "SBN" or "AT-OS Decalcenex"

14.2.2 Detergent

Periodically check the level of detergent liquid contained in the drum (when present) located in the compartment below the wash
For more information regarding the detergent liquid consult chapter 9 of this manual.
Recommended product: "SBR" or "AT-OS Clear"

14.3 What to do if the machine hasn't been used for a long time

14.3.1 Storage tank

If the machine hasn't been used for a long time without electrical supply, it is good to empty manually the storage tank using the
drainage valve under it: in this way the proliferating of bacteria is avoid.
In all the 15883 machines this operation is automatic every time the machine doesn't work for a long time, even without electrical
supply.

14.3.2 Steam generator

If the machine hasn't been used for a long time without electrical supply, it is good to empty manually the steam generator using the
drainage cap under it: in this way the proliferating of bacteria is avoid.
Use only products recommended by AT-OS S.r.l. because these have already been tested
on the machine. If the machine has two drums be careful not to mix up the aspiration
nozzles when the empty drums are replaced. Always read the colored label near the drum
cap and the label on the drum of liquid.
