Step 5: Twist the top section
counterclockwise. Then pull the
top section from the lower. You
will need to unscrew the wire
connector on the inside of the filter
to fully remove the top of the filter
from the bottom.
Step 6 Lift the pump and UV light
assembly out of the base.
NOTE: You may need to thread
some power cord through the base
of the filter to remove the pump.
Step 7: Remove the pump by
unscrewing the wire connector
from the pump to the UV light
assembly.
Step 8: To clean the pump,
remove the front cover, locking
ring, and impeller cover to expose
the impeller assembly. Remove
the impeller assembly by gently
pulling on the impeller blades.
The impeller is held in place by
a magnet. Use a soft cloth or
brush and warm water to clean
the impeller and the inside of the
impeller housing.
Step 9: To clean the UV light
assembly, turn the locking nut
counterclockwise and pull it away
from the light housing to remove.
Remove the UV bulb assembly by
gently pulling on the lamp holder.
Be careful to pull the assembly
straight out as to not damage any
parts. Use warm water to clean the
inside of the light housing.
Step 10: Clean the exterior of the
glass with warm water. Do not
remove the UV bulb while cleaning.
Step 11: To replace the UV bulb,
gently remove the glass tube away
from the bulb. Be careful to pull the
tube straight out as to not damage
any parts. You should only hold the UV bulb by the base. Gently pull the
bulb straight from the bulb socket, and insert the replacement bulb being
careful not to bend the wires at the stem of the bulb.
Step 12: Reassembly all parts making sure to fasten all interior electrical
cords safely. Place the filter into the water, and connect the filter into a
properly grounded electrical outlet.
