Alethia Handheld Barcode Scanner Intended Use and Function
The Alethia Handheld Barcode Scanner is intended for use with the Alethia automated isothermal
amplification and detection system. The Handheld Barcode Scanner is supplied with a preinstalled Y
connector cord and an optional stand.
Installation
1. Power off the Alethia instrument. Insert male end of Y connector cord to the port marked "PS/2"
on the back of the Alethia instrument. If User would like to install both the Handheld Barcode
Scanner and the optional keyboard, optional keyboard can be connected to the female end of the
Y connector cord.
2. Power on the instrument.
3. Disable the onboard barcode scanner. From the Main Menu, enter the SYSTEM mode (Option 5)
and select "Barcode Scanner" (Option 3). Disable the onboard scanner by pressing "Disable"
(Option 2).
4. If the handheld barcode scanner is placed in the optional stand, the scanner will automatically enter
Constant Read (Hands-Free (Presentation) Trigger) Mode. This can be toggled off and on by
scanning the following barcodes:
