Proper use of Homemade Fertilizer
It is recommended to use the homemade fertilizer similarly to
a traditional outdoor plant fertilizer for use on flowers, shrubs,
lawns, and gardens.
Homemade fertilizer from the food recycler is for outdoor
use only.
Use as a top dressing on your outdoor flower beds or
garden, no more than 1/4" thick.
Mixing homemade fertilizer into the soil is not
Keep homemade fertilizer away from plant stems/roots.
Homemade fertilizer can also be spread on your lawn. Place the
material in a lawn spreader and set the level to medium or high.
You can repeat the lawn treatment every two weeks.
If there is no immediate garden usage, the homemade fertilizer
can also be composted.

Storing Homemade Fertilizer

WARNING
Allergic Reaction Hazard
Homemade fertilizer may contain allergens or
pathogens from food waste or other added materials.
Wash hands after touching homemade fertilizer.
Failure to do so can result in allergic reaction or
sickness.
Remove the homemade fertilizer from the output bin and store
in an airtight container.

Removing a Food Waste Jam
or Foreign Object

If hard food waste items are added to the mixing bin they may
cause the food recycler to jam. If there is a food jam, an alternating
series of lights and tones will occur until the food jam is cleared.

Open the lid and lift up and out to remove the funnel from the
mixing bin opening.
