GUIDE BAR
Supports and guides the saw chain.
SAW CHAIN
A loop of chain with cutting teeth and supported by the guide bar. The saw chain cuts
the wood when it is driven by the power pole.
CHAIN SHEATH
The chain sheath keeps the operator from coming in contact with the sharp chain
blades when the tool is not in use. It also helps keep the chain blades from being
nicked or damaged when the tool is being transported or stored.
CHAIN-SPROCKET COVER
Covers the chain-sprocket and secures the guide bar.
COVER NUT
Locks/unlocks the chain-sprocket cover.
OIL TANK
Stores the lubricant for the saw chain. The semi-transparent tank housing allows user
to see when to add lubricant.
OIL-TANK CAP
Seals the oil tank.
CHAIN-TENSIONING SCREW
Used to adjust the tension of the saw chain.
BUCKING SPIKES
The pointed tooth or teeth for use when felling or bucking to pivot the saw and maintain
position while sawing.
