4.3 Setting
Let the investment compound set for approx 30 min and then remove care-
fully from the duplicating mould
4.4 Drying
Dry the model for approx 40 min in a drying furnace preheated to around
220 °C
4.5 Hardening
Note: Investment compound models which have been produced in silicone
Immerse the dried investment compound model in cold immersion hardener
for approx 10 s
Let the immersion liquid drip off the cast and put the cast back in the
switched-off drying furnace for approx 5 min
Using hardening waxes, hardening sprays or wax adhesives is also possible
4.6 Modelling
Modelling on hand-warm model
5 Production of the casting mould
5.1 Relaxing
Thinly brush the wax object with the Waxit wetting agent and then carefully
blow it dry
5.2 Fine investment
Before investing of the wax modelation with Biosint Extra, the entire wax
surface can be pretreated with fine investment compound This provides the
best guarantee of avoiding air bubbles at undercuts or points on the poured
object which are difficult to see and also results in exact surface reproduction
of the cast
