6. Start-up
Ground the pump before making any other connection. The installation technician must make
sure that the grounding of the power supply system complies with local safety regulations. Install
a motor overload and undervoltage protection upstream.

WARNING
The maximum noise of the electric pump when properly installed and operating within its limits is as per the
table below:

* Weighted equivalent (A) continuous sound pressure level (LpA) at 1-meter distance from the pump in an
open field.
7. Maintenance
The pump does not require any regular scheduled maintenance.
Periodically check: input power, absence of leaks from the mechanical seal and condition of bearings.

Disassembly
Remove the screws that secure the adapter to the pump body; it is now possible to remove the motor/adap-
ter/impeller assembly without disconnecting the pipes from the pump body.
To change the mechanical seal, make sure that all parts are clean and use caution to avoid impacts, jolts,
cutting edges; take care not to foul the sealing surfaces with grease.
The screws that fasten the adapter to the pump body must be tightened evenly without applying excessi-
ve force.
For FLD models:
suitably-sized blind flanges are available (see blind flange kits) in case it is necessa-
7.2 FLS - FLSD Disassembly
Proceed as directed in paragraph 7.1 but remove the motor/pump support (14) as well.
Please note that the impeller is keyed to the stub shaft fixed directly to the motor shaft extension.
For FLSD models:
suitably-sized blind flanges are available (see blind flange kits) in case it is necessa-

Make sure that the rated voltage and frequency correspond to the supply voltage.
Remove the terminal board cover by first removing the screws.
Carry out the connections as indicated on the back of the terminal board cover.
Check the motor rotation direction: see the arrows on the pump body. If necessary,
switch two supply wires.
Avoid dry running.
After having filled and bled the system and checked the direction of rotation, open the
gate valves and start the pump. Make sure the pump is operating within its working
limits; the current input must not exceed the rated value. If necessary, partially close
the delivery gate valve or adjust the pressure switch setting.
Before starting the pump after a long period of inactivity make sure it is not clogged
or obstructed. In the event of obstructions, prise the motor fan with a screwdriver to
make sure that the shaft rotates freely.
