SL 160 – SL 240 – SL 240 TE-CTN – SL 240 DUO-CTN + SL 240 TRIO-CTN
Instructions for assembly, use and maintenance
1. Possible applications
The range of water filters CINTROPUR
with solid suspended particles, such as city water, rainwater, borehole water, spring water.
Other types of non-aggressive liquid can also be filtered. The possible areas of use are in the domestic, the
industrial, the public and the agricultural sectors.
The materials used to manufacture the filters are suitable for food products and drinking water.
The use of the SL 240 TE-CTN + SL 240 DUO-CTN + SL 240 TRIO-CTN with activated carbon is well known
for dechlorination, removal of odours, improvement of taste, reduction of pesticides and herbicides.
2. Technical description
The installation and use of the filters SL 160 – 240 – 240 TE-CTN – 240 DUO-CTN and 240 TRIO-CTN must
comply with the technical requirements listed in the following table:
Diameter of pipe
ΔP=0.2bar
Average flow
ΔP=0.5bar
rate (m³/h)
Working pressure (bar)
Max. operating pressure (bar)
Max. operating temperature
Weight (kg)

Filtration surface (cm²)
* Value with CINTROPUR activated carbon
3. Assembly and handling
The filters must be fitted according to the state of the art procedures, by qualified personnel: they
must be free of mechanical stress, with the piping upstream and downstream aligned. The distance
between the couplings must be correct to avoid any tension or compression stress on them.
The ideal location for the CINTROPUR
after the pump). Make sure that the direction of the water flow corresponds to the direction of the
arrow on the filter head.
The pressure reducer will efficiently reduce the supply pressure if it exceeds the operating pressure.
An anti-water-hammer device is necessary in case it may occur on the installation.
The filter is supplied complete and ready to install. The equipment supplied includes a 25µ filter
sleeve (except on the TE-CTN model) a wall fixation and a spanner for dismounting.
Fixing the bracket to the head of the filter is done using the two self-drilling screws provided for this
purpose. Slightly tightening these is adequate for a good grip. Two positioning of the filter to the
bracket (near or far from the wall) are available.
The female threads in the SL heads are conical.
These female threads are intended to accept all types of connections and valves (galvanized, brass,
stainless steel, PVC...).
The tightness of the female threaded connections can be made with any kind of usual trade
products. However it is recommended to use hemp and Kolmat paste. Leave one thread turn free on
the filter connector to provide a good start for the valve or connector of your installation. In all cases,
try to avoid too much hemp and Kolmat paste on the connection to insert.
In the case of double or even triple SL filters (SL 240 DUO-CTN or SL 240 TRIO-CTN), the tightness
between two heads is only achieved by a CINTROPUR nipple equipped with 2 O-rings.
