•
Make sure to have connected the device to a suitable power supply
•
Make sure to have installed the required electrode (pH o mV) in the socket (4)
•
If it is available, make sure to have the electrode connected to the socket (6)
•
Swich the main switch (9) on
•
Select pH or mV with the key (11)
•
Remove the protective caps from the electrode
•
Rinse the electrode in distilled water
•
Introduce the electrode in the liquid to measure
If you work with temperature probe it must keep introduced inside the liquid
In order to improve the accuracy it is advised to do a preheating 30 minutes.
Normally this device does not need tha manual introduction of temperature but, if
it is needed, temperature can be mesured with an external themometer and then
enter it through the keyboard.
It is advisable to have a probe connected to the equipment in order to read the
temperature of the sample.
6.5 Calibration
It is advisable to calibrate the device beforeto do the measurements or, at least, once
a day in case of coutinous working.
The device recognizes automatically three different kinds of buffer solutions: pH 4.00,
pH 6.86 and pH 9.18. In these cases is not necessary to do any adjustment after
press the key «STD> or «Slope» simply press the key «ENTER» to end the calibration.
Also can be done calibrations with other kind of buffer solutions or doing calibrations
at two points.
Before to introduce the electrode in the buffer solution it must be rinsed with distilled
water.
After doing the calibraton in one point the old calibration date will be erased auto-
matically.
It is advisable to know the value of the buffer solution at several temperatures.
