This manual contains important safety and operating instructions. Read this manual carefully before
using the charger for the first time and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

RODUCT FEATURES
GYSFLASH is designed for charging a variety of SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries, widely used in cars
and other vehicles. GYSFLASH 7A is suitable for WET/Flooded (Liquid Electrolyte), GEL (Gelatine type
Electrolyte, absorbed into the plates), AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) and CA (Calcium) batteries.
GYSFLASH 7A charges 12V batteries (6 cells of 2V) from 1.2 Ah to 130 Ah, or provides a maintenance
charge for 12V batteries from 1.2 to 230 Ah.
GYSFLASH 4A charges 12V batteries (6 cells of 2V) from 1.2 Ah to 70 Ah, or provides a maintenance
charge for 12V batteries from 1.2 to 130 Ah.

AFETY INFORMATION
Do not attempt to charge non rechargeable batteries.
If the power cable is damaged, stop using the machine. Any repair must be carried out by
GYS or an authorized repair agent in order to avoid danger.
Respect the fuse rating indicated on the charger.
Do not cover the charger while charging.
Always read the instructions carefully before charging. Unplug the charger from the mains
before connecting or disconnecting the clamps from the terminals of the battery.
Attention: Explosive gas, avoid sparks and flames. Ensure that the unit is in a sufficiently
ventilated area during charge.
Separate collection required. Do not dispose of in domestic refuse.
This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given by a
person responsible for their safety, supervision or instructions concerning the use of the
device. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not
be performed by unsupervised children.
During use the unit should be placed so that the mains socket is accessible.
C
ONNECTING
 Charging of a permanently installed battery in a vehicle
a- Plug the charger into the mains
b- Check polarity of battery terminals. A positive (+) battery terminal usually has a larger diameter
than a negative one.
c- Identify the terminal of battery which is connected to the chassis (earth) - this is normally the
negative terminal.
d1- Charging a negative earthed battery:
Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the battery and the black clamp to the
negative (-) terminal of the battery or to the vehicle chassis.
d2- Charging of positive earthed battery:
- Connect the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the battery and the red clamp to the
positive (+) terminal of the battery or to the vehicle chassis.
 Charging a battery not connected to a vehicle
a- Plug the charger into the mains
b- Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the battery and the black clamp to the
negative (-) terminal.
 For permanent connection to the vehicle battery use the cable with eyelet terminals = accessory

Warning: Do not connect the cables to the battery terminals during installation.
a- Connect the red cable to the positive (+) battery terminal
b- Connect the black cable to the negative (-) battery terminal
