CONFIGURATION
IMPORTANT: Firstly, use a 23 press sequence to unlock the MTV500ER and configure it.
It is useful to approach the receiver to configure with a remote control.
All configurations are stored in the case of blackout.
1) Timer configuration: The time can be configured from 2 minutes to 4 hours by means of short press sequences (see table).
Press 25 times to set the time in seconds (from 2 to 240 seconds) instead of minutes. Press 26 times to return the setting to
minutes.
2) 12 hour time: The timer can be extended and set to 12 hours. Press 6 times to do this. The light will be switched on for
12 hours whenever any pushbutton is pressed. Press the pushbutton again to switch the light off before the set switch-off
time. The 12 hour mode will be automatically cancelled after switch-off and normal operation will be resumed.
3) Switch-off warning: The module will flash 60 seconds before the set switch-off time (or 10 seconds if the time is set in
seconds). Press the pushbutton again to restart the timer. The warning function is preset by default. Press 24 times to
deactivate (and reactivate) the function.
4) Storage in case of blackout: The brightness state will be stored in case of blackout and re-established when power is
restored: the light will remain off if the dimmer was off. Otherwise, the light will return to the stored brightness.
5) Relay mode: The MTV500ER works as a simple relay instead of a dimmer in this mode. Press 20 times to activate (or
deactivate) the mode.
6) Flashing mode: This function may be useful to alert hearing impaired users: the MTV500ER will flash for 30 seconds
when a flash command is received from the transmitter. Press any pushbutton on the transmitter to stop the flashing. Press
22 times to activate or deactivate the function. Additionally press any button on the transmitter 10 times (Configuration
Menu). The transmitter LED will flash rapidly. Then press the chosen pushbutton 19 times.
7) Memory mode: The last brightness level reached following prolonged pressing is stored and will be recalled at the next
switch-on (or by means of two short presses according to the configuration - see next item).
8) 100% mode at first press: 100% brightness at the first press may be required in some applications. In this case, the stored
brightness level may be recalled by 2 presses. Press 29 times to activate or deactivate the function (the memory mode is
activated by default).
9) Minimum brightness level: The minimum brightness level may be recalled at any time by means of 4 presses. To
configure the minimum required level:
- Set the chosen brightness by holding the pushbutton pressed
- Then press 27 times: the module will flash 7 times to confirm.
- Press 28 times to restore the default setting.
10) Configuration lock: Simply press 21 times to lock the module and prevent any changes to settings (replay: 1 flash).
WARNING: The MTV500ER will lock automatically after one hour. Press 23 times to unlock it (reply: 3 flashes).
11) How to increase the switched power
Multiple MTV500ER modules may be used to increase the total switched power. Each module must control a maximum load
of 500/250 W in specific manner. The modules can then be connected in wireless mode: all the dimmers will work at the
same time in this manner.
To connect two or more MTV500ER modules in wireless mode:
- Press the 'connect' tab on a MTV500ER 4 times.
- Then press the tap of the other MTV500ER once (1 press).
- Hold the tab of all the MTV500ER modules pressed for 4 seconds to cancel the connection.
12) Use with energy-saving or LED light
The brightness must be set to a higher level if the light flickers when it is dimmed (see § 9). Accessory CHR3W may be
connected in parallel between light bulb return and neutral to suppress or attenuate flickering.
WARNING: Check that the light comes on at the minimum brightness level.
Otherwise, increase the minimum brightness level (see § 9).
13) Child night light: 7 short presses activate the child night light mode. The light sets itself to 20% and lighting
progressively dims in the course of an hour to leave only a night light for 12 hours.
