8. Battery settings

To change the charge / discharge parame-
ters, call up the "Battery settings" sub-
menu.
In this menu you can set all the important
battery parameters such as battery type,
cell count, capacity, etc.
It is absolutely essential to set the follo-
wing values correctly, otherwise you risk
damaging the battery:
Battery type, cell count, Delta-Peak sensiti-
vity (NC / NiMH batteries only), capacity,
charge / discharge current, discharge vol-
tage and cut-off temperature (charge pro-
cess only).
You will find tips on setting these values in
the section entitled "A brief guide to battery
types".

A special additional process is also availa-
ble when a BID-chip / key is plugged into the
charger.
SPECIAL Lead-acid or Lithium batteries
which are charged using the CC - CV pro-
cess. Charge voltage freely selectable within
the range 2 ... 6 Volt.
Charge voltage / peak sensitivityJe This
line contains the set-up facility for charge
voltage, according to the battery type you
have selected (Lithium and Lead-acid batte-
ries, also Special battery), or for peak cut-
off sensitivity (NICD and NIMH batteries
only).
Battery type
NICD = Std. 7 mV/cell (available range 3 - 25 mV)
NIMH = Std. 5 mV/cell (available range 3 - 25 mV)
Lead = Fixed value 2.3 V/ cell
LiPO = Fixed value 4,.2 V/ cell
LiON = Fixed value 4.1 V/ cell
LiFE = Fixed value 3.7 V / cell
