Installation and Maintenance Instructions
EXPLOSION HAZARD:
in a hazardous location if the operating temperature exceeds the hazardous atmosphere's
ignition temperature. Before proceeding, consult the product nameplate and determine the
operating temperature of the unit.
Improper operation could occur if an accumulation of water, snow, dust, etc. resides in
the unit projector, severely reducing or preventing output of this device. Mount the unit
so unit projector is pointed horizontally or slightly downward.
1. Flat Surface Mounting
a. Select the mounting location and place rear of the housing against
mounting surface.
b. Using the mounting holes as a template, scribe drill position marks on the
mounting surface. See Figure 1 for mounting hole spacing.
Before drilling holes in any surface, ensure that both sides of surfaces are clear of items
that could be damaged.
c. Secure the unit to mounting surface with appropriate user supplied No. 10
hardware.
d. Remove cover by removing the two No. 10 x 1 ½" Phillips head screws to access
wiring compartment.
e. Route wires through the 1/2" threaded openings into the SST3GCX-MV unit in
accordance with National and Local Electrical codes. Wire size depends upon the
operating current and the distance from the power source. All electrical wiring
must be routed through approved conduit and fittings.
f. Reposition unit projector if necessary to obtain desired sound coverage. Loosen
collar nut and move projector to desired position. Tighten nut to lock projector in
place.

Electrical Connections:

To avoid electrical shock, do not connect any wires when circuits are energized.
EXPLOSION HAZARD: Do not disconnect the unit while the circuit is live or unless
the area is known to be free of ignitable concentrations. Keep the unit tightly closed when
in operation.
