3. Installation
• Unpack your HAM2828 and install 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries (LR03C, not incl.). These batteries are feeding the
memory.
• Select the installation location, close to a mains socket and a telephone line.
• Connect the power adapter to the adapter input (4) and plug it into the mains. Make sure the voltage of the mains
matches the power adapter before connecting. Only use the included power adapter.
• Connect the telephone line to the telephone line in (5) of the HAM2828. You can connect your telephone to the
telephone line out (6) of the HAM2828 when desired.
• Input the telephone memory (see "Setting Procedure – Memorising the Telephone Numbers").
Remark: Press the TEST button (20) to test the device and to check if the HAM2828 has memorized the telephone
numbers. When the alarm icon (7) appears on the display the system alarm will be activated. Press the
ALARM ON/OFF key (18) to switch between the alarm mode and standby mode.
4. Setting Procedure
a. Enabling or Disabling the Alarm
Press the ALARM ON/OFF key (18) to turn the alarm mode on or off. In the alarm mode, an icon (7) will appear on
the display, the indicator light (2) will be lit and the PIR sensor (1) will be active.
b. Sound ON/OFF
Press the SOUND ON/OFF key (19) to turn the sound on or off. The sound icon (8) will appear on the display when
the sound mode is activated.
c. Setting the Tone Dial or the Pulse Dial
Press the MENU key (15) and select the tone dial or pulse dial mode. The corresponding icon (10 or 11) will be
flashing on the display. Press the MEMORY key (22) to confirm your choice.
d. Memorising the Telephone Numbers
• Press the MENU key (15). The memory mode icon (12) will be flashing on the display.
• Press the FORWARD (16) or BACKWARD (17) key to select the number of telephone numbers to be memorized.
• Input the telephone number on the numeric keyboard (14).
• Press CANCEL (21) to clear an incorrect number or press the MEMORY key (22) to confirm. The HAM2828 can
memorize up to 5 telephone numbers. When the system is connected to an internal switchboard, add "*" after the
pick-up number (9 for the HAM2828) to call an outside line, e.g. 9*123456789.
e. Testing Mode
Press the TEST key (20) to confirm the installation of the HAM2828. The unit will dial the memorized telephone
numbers sequentially to test the proper operation.
f. Setting the Time
• Press the MENU key (15) until the time icon (13) and the hour are flashing.
• Press the FORWARD (16) or BACKWARD (17) key to set the hour. Press the MEMORY key (22) to confirm and
to set the minutes with the FORWARD (16) or BACKWARD (17) key.
• Press the MEMORY key (22) to confirm and to quit the setting mode.
