• Make sure that the appliance, the power cord and plug do
not come into contact with water.
• Do not pick up the appliance if it falls into water. Remove
the plug from the wall socket immediately. Do not use the
appliance any more.
• Take care when touching the appliance and its parts.
Allow the appliance to cool down first. The appliance and
its parts will become hot whilst the appliance is in use.
• The appliance needs space to allow heat to escape,
thereby preventing the risk of fire. Make sure that the
appliance has sufficient space around it, and does not
come in contact with flammable material. The appliance
must not be covered.

During use

• Never use the appliance outdoors.
• Never use the appliance in humid rooms.
• Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface where it
cannot fall.
• Never allow the power cord to hang over the edge of the
draining board, worktop or table.
• Make sure that your hands are dry when you touch the
appliance, the power cord or the plug.
• Switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the
wall socket in the event of a malfunction during use, and
before cleaning the appliance, fitting or removing an
accessory, or storing the appliance after use.
• Never leave the appliance unsupervised whilst it is in
use.
• Never move the appliance whilst it is switched on or is
still hot. Switch off the appliance,and wait until it has
cooled down before moving it.
• Never turn the appliance on when the pan is empty.
• When filling the fondue pan, pay attention to the
maximum and minimum levels indicated by the "MIN"
and "MAX" marks in the fondue pan.
• Do not use sharp objects in the pan, such as metal
spatulas, knives and forks. These may damage the non-
stick coating.

• Make sure that small children cannot reach the
appliance. The appliance and its parts will become hot
whilst the appliance is in use.
• Only hold the appliance by the handle.
• Regularly check whether the handles are firmly attached
to the pan.
• Clean the appliance thoroughly after use (see 'Cleaning
and maintenance').
• The parts of this set have a PTFE non-stick coating.
When this coating is heated, small quantities of gasses
can be given off. These are harmless to humans.
However, it has been proven that the nervous system of
birds is very sensitive to them. Therefore, do not use this
fondue set near birds (tropical birds, such as parrots).
U.K. WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance
with the following code:
• BLUENEUTRAL
• BROWNLIVE
• GREEN/YELLOWEARTH
As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the colour markings
identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:
• The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to
the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured
black.
• The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected
to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or
coloured red.
• The wire which is coloured GREEN/YELLOW must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter
E or (earth symbol) and is coloured GREEN or GREEN/
YELLOW
