Install Mulch Plug

A
1. Hold open discharge chute (A).
2. Grasp corner of metal deflector (B). Pull outward and
swing upward to release the deflector.
3. Keep the deflector and chute from closing by tying,
taping, or strapping the deflector in the up position.
4. Rotate mower blades to provide maximum clearance (C)
for mulch plug installation.
5. Remove and retain locking wing nut (D) from carriage
bolt in mulch plug.

6. Place mulch plug into discharge opening, carriage bolt
end first with threads pointing upward.

7. Seat bottom edge of mulch plug into mower deck lip
groove (E). Then lower the metal deflector and discharge
chute.
