There are two safety systems that
switch the appliance off, when the water
reaches the boiling point (the operation
thermostat) or when the tank is empty
(the safety thermostat).
2 UsE
+
This appliance has been exclusively
designed to heat water until it boils. Do
not use it for any other purpose.
+
Before using it for the first time, use
the appliance twice with water only to
clean the system.
1 Plug the appliance into the mains and
collect the leftover cord in the cord
dispenser at the bottom of the base
plate (1).
2 Lift the lid (4) by pressing the button
(5) and pour water into the jar (3) A.
3 Close the lid (4), place the jar (3) on
the base plate (1) B, and make sure
that it does not wobble. Make sure the
lid is properly closed.
4 Switch the appliance on by setting the
on-off switch (7) to the On position.
The pilot indicator (8) lights up blue.
5 A few moments after the water begins
to boil, the appliance will switch off
automatically: The pilot light (8) goes
out.

3 ClEANING AND stoRAGE
+
Clean the appliance after using it for
the first time, immediately after use and
after not being used for a long time.
Unplug the appliance and allow it to
cool before cleaning it.
1 Clean the outer surface of the jar with
a dry cloth.
2 Clean the inner surface of the jar with
soapy water and rinse with plenty of
water.
3 Clean the base (1) using only a dry
cloth. Never wet the appliance.
4 To store the appliance, collect the
power cord around the cord holder on
the base.
Descaling
To eliminate scale build up in the
components that are in contact with hot
water, descale the appliance every six
months approximately, depending on
how often the appliance is used and how
hard the water is.
1 Fill the jar to the MAX mark with a
descaling product that is adequate for
kettles or coffee makers, and follow
the instructions of the product manu-
facturer. Another solution is to use a
1:1 mixture of water and vinegar.
2 Wait until the descaling product has
dissolved the built up scale. Remove
the descaling product and rinse out
the inside of the jar.
3 Use the appliance twice with water
only, pouring out the water each time
to completely eliminate the scale re-
mains.
