Mounting Instructions
NOTICE: Before you install the PowerConnect™ RPS-60, consult the
User's Guide for your PowerConnect switch to confirm that your switch
supports the PowerConnect RPS-60 redundant power system.
The PowerConnect RPS-60 is an external redundant power system that
provides a second redundant power supply for your PowerConnect switch,
eliminating the power supply as a single point of failure. To use the RPS-60:
Attach the adapter tray to the back of the switch by tightening the two
1
mounting screws.
Insert the power adapter into the tray.
2
Plug the power adapter's DC cable into the connector labeled "RPS"
3
on the back of the switch.
Connect the AC power cable to the power adapter, and then plug it
4
into an electrical outlet.
The switch is now using both power supplies simultaneously. You can
monitor the status of the two power supplies with the front-panel LEDs on
your PowerConnect switch.
