4. How to get started quickly

H2000 is very easy to commission.

Commissioning the detector for the H50
Hand Probe is described below. Please
refer to the respective probe manual for
connecting Active Probes.
• Connect the Hand Probe to the instrument
using the probe cable. Connect the mains
lead.
• Switch on the power on the back of the
unit. The display lights up showing this
picture:
• The progress bar shows that the sensor is
stabilising and the detector is booting up. Red Green
• The green LED should come on to show
that a functioning probe is connected and
the red LED should be flashing at a slow
rate. Avoid exposing the probe to hydrogen
during the stabilisation period.
• When the stabilisation period is over
(typically 1 minute) the red LED goes out
and the green LED stays on.
• The display will now show this picture:

• If the probe is exposed to hydrogen the
detector audio signal will increase in fre-
quency and the horizontal indicator bar on
the display will increase in length as the
gas concentration increases.
