IMPORTANT: Tractel
competent person should check the
guard trac™ or guard trac™ plus
guardrail every 12 months and issue written
authorisation for continued use. Failing this, the
guardrail should be put out of service to prevent
any further use, and then be refurbished. This
inspection should be carried out in compliance
with the method defined by Tractel
The same inspection should be carried out every
time the guardrail has prevented the fall of a
person or object.
9. Cases of prohibited use
It is forbidden:
1.
To install or use guard trac™ or guard
trac™ plus guardrail without the proper
authorisation, training and recognition of
competence or, failing that, without the
supervision of a person who is authorised,
trained and recognised as competent.
2.
To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail if any of the markings on
any components is missing or illegible (see
section13).
3.
To install or use any guard trac™ or guard
trac™ plus guardrail that has not
undergone prior checks (see section 7.2).
4.
To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail that has not been subject to
regular inspection during the previous 12
months
by
a
authorised its return to use in writing (see
section 9),
5.
To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail for any purpose other than
the one it is designed for.
6.
To use any other 25 kg counterweight than
the ones especially designed for use on
the guard trac™ or guard trac™ plus
guardrail.
7.
To install the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail on a structure that a prior
study (see section 7) may have not have
been carried out or one where the studies
findings would be unfavourable to the
installation of the guardrail,
or a trained and

plus guardrail in any way other than the
one described in this manual.
9.
To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail if one or more 25Kg
counterweights are not in place on the
bracket and correctly placed.
10. To install the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail on any waterproof surface
other than the ones described in this
manual.
11. To install the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail on any surfaces with a slope
bigger than 10°.
12. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail if it is located at less than
50mm from the parapet with a minimum
height of 150 mm.
13. To install the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus on a zone without parapet of at least
150mm.
14. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail if it has exceeded the
lifespan defined by Tractel® (see 8.1).
15. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail that has arrested a falling
person or object and not been put back
into use according to this manual.
16. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail in an explosive atmosphere.
17. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail in a highly corrosive
atmosphere.
18. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail outside a temperature
range of between 5°C and 50°C,
19. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail as an anchor point.
20. To use the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail for hanging tools.
21. To place an interface between the 25 kg
counterweight and the roof sealant during
installation,
22. To install the guard trac™ or guard trac™
plus guardrail on a roof sealant that has
not been previously cleared and cleaned,
23. To carry out repairs on the guard trac™ or
guard trac™ plus guardrail.
24. To install or use the guard trac™ or guard
trac™ plus guardrail if you are not in
perfect physical and mental health.
