Application
The code lock module COM 611-...
is an input unit designed in
accordance with the Vario concept
for entering codes for door calls and
control functions in conjunction with
the Siedle Vario bus. For control
functions (such as open door with
code), Easikey controller EC 602-...
is required. In the 1+n system, call
controller RC 602-... is necessary to
initate door calls, while in the Siedle
In-Home bus, the BIM 650... is
required.
A decimal keypad is available for
entering codes with the digits 0 - 9.
To place calls, a call button is
provided, and to enter codes, an F
button. A C button is provided for
cancelling or deleting incorrect
entries, and a key symbol button is
provided for direct door release
without code input. The integrated
LED can be used as a status display,
for example to indicate that an
alarm system is active.
When one of the buttons is
actuated, an acoustic confirmation
sounds (bleeping tone).
Up to 8 COM 611-... units can be
operated at one EC/RC 602-...
If more than one COM 611-... is
connected to an EC/RC 602-..., an
unambiguous address is required for
each individual COM 611-...
Using the BCD rotary switch on the
back of the COM 611-..., the
address is set between 1 and 8.
The settings 0 and 9, and double
allocation of numbers will result in
failure of the COM 611-...
Range
The total length of the conductors
laid throughout the Variobus
network must not exceed 2000 m.
The loop resistance (forward and
return line between COM 611-...
and RC/EC 602-...) must not exceed
20 Ohm. With a core diameter of
0.8 mm, a range of appr. 250 m
results. The power supply to the
Variobus components is effected via
a separate transformer TR 602-...
Steps must be taken to ensure that
the supply voltage to each unit never
4
drops below 9 V/AC during
maximum current consumption.
In conjunction with Siedle door
communication systems, certain
ranges must be observed between
the door loudspeaker and line
rectifier/between the door loud-
speaker and in-house telephone. For
more details, see the Planning and
Installation Guidelines for Door and
In-house Telephone Communication.
Conductor material
Telecommunication cables must be
used for installation on the bus side
JY (St) Y
Twisted-pair
conductors, shielded,
0.8 mm core diameter
A2Y (St) 2Y
Buried telecommuni-
cation cable 0.8 mm

Conductor routing
In order to comply with the general
safety regulations for telecommuni-
cation systems in accordance with
VDE 0100 and VDE 0800, and to
avoid disturbing influences,
attention must be paid to separate
routing of heavy and light current
cables. A distance of 10 cm must be
adhered to.
Mounting
1 (no illustration) Plug the ribbon
cable into the combination terminal

Inportant notes
The code lock modules has a
painted surface, which, as a result of
the user frequency, shows traces on
the surface. This leads to that a
COM 611 -... frequently used
numbers, contrast differently then
the not frequently used numbers.
We recommend to change the code
in regular intervals. Please use other
numerials.
Pilfer safeguard
In order to protect the Vario
modules from unauthorized access,
the pilfer safeguard controller
DSC 602-... can be optionally used
in conjunction with the ZDS 601-...
This can be used to protect the
inserted modules from
unauthorized access.
