Tools are NOT insulated for use on
or near energized conductors. Use
of these tools near energized
conductors may lead to electrical
shock, causing severe injury or
death. Do NOT use these tools near
energized conductors without
adequately insulating operator and
surroundings.
Blade hazard. Cutter blades move
at high speed and force and can
cause severe personal injury. Keep
ALL body parts away from moving
parts of the tool when connected to
a hydraulic power source or in
operation.
Projectile hazard. Cutter blades
may break during operation due to
stress cracks or misapplication.
Always carefully inspect blades
before use and aim the head of the
tool away from your body and
bystanders to avoid serious personal
injury.
Projectile hazard. Chards from cut
cable may be flung off at high speeds
and can cause severe injury. Always
tape or wire the end(s) of the cable
being cut to prevent flying chards.
Use appropriate personal safety equipment when
handling and operating this tool such as: safety
shoes, eye protection and work gloves to avoid
personal injury.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CABLE CUTTING
1)
Read and follow all PRE-OPERATION
warnings and instructions before proceeding.
2)
Be sure to cut only one conductor at a time.
3)
When cutting bare conductor, apply tape or
wire around the cable being cut to hold the
individual strands together.
4)
If cutting near the end of a cable length, cover
the end of the cable and direct it away from
any bystanders.
5)
With the opening of the head of the tool
facing AWAY from your body, place the cable
between the open blades in the cutter tool.
6)
Align the area to be cut with the location of
the blades.
7)
Activate the hydraulic power source. The ram
will advance the lower cutter blade during
the activation cycle to cut the cable. For
best results make every effort to keep the
cable perpendicular to the cable cutter tool.
Failure to do so will cause damage to the
tool and may lead to serious personal injury.
8)
When the cable is cut, release the hydraulic
power source. The ram automatically retracts.
