3. TEST INSTRUCTIONS

Test of 406 / 121.5 MHz frequencies
(1) Press TEST / READY push button (3) during 1 second.
(2) The buzzer transmits an audible signal every second.
(3) Check that control lamps (5, 6) blinks:
- The test lasts 23 or 26 seconds according to version.
- Then the test result is displayed as follows:
- Red led (6), 1 blinking every 2 seconds indicates good operation (OK).
- Red led (6), 2 blinkings every 2 seconds indicates faulty operation (X).
Repeat 3 times to confirm failure before contacting agent.
As 121.5 MHz signal is transmitted during
self-test, this test may only be executed
during the first five (5) minutes period of
any hour.
Limit self-testing to the minimum necessary
to ensure confidence in operation of the
satellite EPIRB.
