Running a ß-Ketone Test
1. Insert a ß-ketone test strip into the monitor. Ketone is a green
strip. If monitor was off, the screen displays all segments for 2
seconds.
NOTE: If the strip is removed before you start the test, the screen
goes blank.

2. After 3 seconds, the blinking blood drop symbol appears with
"Ket" displaying.
NOTE: If a test is not performed within 2 minutes from the insertion
of the test strip, the screen goes blank. To perform a test, take out
then replace the test strip starting from Step 1.
3. Wash hands with soap and warm water then dry thoroughly. Or
use alcohol pads to clean area; dry thoroughly after cleaning.
NOTE: Cleaning of the puncture site is important.
4. Holding hand downward, massage finger with thumb toward
tip to stimulate blood flow.
