INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MODEL LWMB2 MOUNTING KIT
It is important to follow all instructions shipped with this product. This device is to be installed by a
trained electrician who is thoroughly familiar with the National Electrical Code and will follow the
NEC Guidelines as well as local codes.
The selection of the mounting location for the device, its controls and the routing of the wiring is to be accom-
plished under the direction of the facilities engineer and the safety engineer. In addition, listed below are some
other important safety instructions and precautions you should follow:
• Read and understand all instructions before installing or operating this equipment.
• Do not connect a light to the system when power is on.
• After installation, test the light system to ensure that it is operating properly.
• After testing is complete, provide a copy of this instruction sheet to all operating personnel.
Failure to follow all safety precautions and instructions may result in property damage, serious
injury, or death to you or others.
A. General.
The Model LWMB2 Mounting Kit enables the user to install Federal Models 27S, 121S, 131ST/
DST, 141, 225, 371, 371L, 371ST/DST, LSB-120, and FB2ST/PST on a wall or other
vertical surface. The mounting kit can be used with or without a 4-inch electrical box.
B. Installation on a 4-inch Electrical Box (figure 1).
1. Check the parts received against the Kit Contents List (paragraph D.) to ensure that the
mounting kit is complete.
2. Using the two supplied 8-32 x 1-
electrical box.
3. Start the two
mounting bracket neck.
4. Assemble the threaded bushing to the light base. Figure 2 illustrates the proper bushing
orientation for all applicable models. Assemble the two set screws to the mounting bracket.
5. Feed the wires, protruding from the base of the light, down through the hole at the top of the
mounting bracket. Insert the light down into the mounting bracket neck and tighten both set
screws securely.
6. Connect the light wires, now extending out the rear flange of the mounting bracket,
to the supply wires in the 4-inch electrical box (refer to light Instruction Sheet).
7. Attach the mounting bracket and light assembly to the adapter plate, using the
stainless steel screws (4) supplied.
C. External Conduit Installation (figure 3).
This installation requires the use of user supplied hardware. Therefore, obtain mounting hardware that
is appropriate for the mounting surface material before proceeding with the installation.
