Window Shutter Module
Function:
This module is used to control and centralise window shutters, blinds and curtains.
Compatibility:
The MVR500E module is compatible with all three- or four-wire motors (neutral, opening, closing, live). The
limit switches may be of the electric or electronic type and set on the shutter itself. If mechanical limit
switches are used, the shutter travel is defined by mechanical stops. In this case, the MVR500E module will
detect an overload and immediately cut off power to the motor.
Wiring:
A standard-compliant protected power line must be used.
Wire the module before connecting power.
In three-phase electrical installations the power phase of the modules must be the same as that of the driver wire. Wiring diagrams are available for
three-phase system.
1) Connect mains power between the 'L' and 'N' terminals.
2) Connect the local pushbutton between the 'L' and 'BP' terminals. Yokis accessory R12M (Code 5454073) must be used to employ a double non-
interlocked pushbutton.
iMPorTanT: check the voltage level between the 'BP' and 'n' terminals on the MVr500e module if the distance of the pushbutton is greater
than 2 metres. if the voltage is higher than 20V, insert a D600V diode between the return wire of the pushbutton and the 'BP' terminal of the
MVr500e making sure to connect the white wire of the D600V to the 'BP' terminal.
3) Connect the motor wires to the 'N', 'O' (opening), 'F' (closing) terminals. Check that the 'O' terminal is actually connected to the opening wire. Do not
rely on the colours of the motor wires. To check whether the motor was connected correctly, short press the pushbutton 3 times and ensure that the
shutter opens. Short press 4 times and check that the shutter closes. If operation is the opposite as expected, reverse the two motor wires on the
MVR500E module.
Power-up:
Care is requireD for shutters with mechanical limit switch. Do not power if the shutter is completely closed. Arrange the shutter mid way using
the opening and closing wires directly before powering the module. The module will adapt automatically to the various types of shutters with electronic,
electric or mechanical limit switches. Motor operation is always limited to 90 seconds, except for the case of electronic limit switches: in this case, the
operation is limited to 40 seconds. Installers may change this type from 5 seconds (minimum) to infinite when using electronic limit switches (if
necessary, contact the technical assistance). Code 24 followed by code 26 allows to deactivate motor contact timing.
Centralisation:
To centralise the MVR500E modules, simply connect all local controls to a driver wire using Yokis accessory D600V (Code 5454072). The accessory
must be connected as close to the MVR500E module as possible. Centralisation allows to control all the shutters from a single or double (not
interlocked) opening or closing pushbutton (in case of double pushbutton, add the Yokis accessory R12M, Code 5454073). All the shutters may be
controlled from one pushbutton (single or double) or from several pushbuttons. Groups of groups can also be created: for example one pushbutton for
the ground floor, one pushbutton for the first floor and one master pushbutton for operating the shutters on the ground and first floor at the same time. In
this case, connect the various driver wires to the master pushbutton by means of D600V accessories.
Please refer to the system diagrams at www.yokis.com
1) use of the module
The MVR500E module may be controlled by a single or double (not interlocked) pushbutton. The shutter reacts a few tenths of a second after pressing
the pushbutton.
With single pushbutton: press once to open or close the shutter completely. Press again during the movement to stop the shutter. The module will
reverse the direction of movement the next time the pushbutton is pressed.
With double pushbutton (not interlocked): (use of Yokis accessory R12M 5454073 required). Press the up pushbutton to open and stop opening. Press
the down pushbutton to close and stop closing. While closing, pressing the up pushbutton will cause a 0.5 second stop and then the shutter will open.
Pressing the two pushbuttons at the same time will open the shutter.
short presses: Yokis modules can be used or configured by means of sequences of short presses. The speed must be at least two presses a second.
The shutter will not move during the press sequence. The shutter will confirm configuration with a short up and down movement at the end of the press
sequence. If several modules need to be configured in identical manner, the short press method may be used on the centralised pushbutton or, in case
of double centralised pushbutton, either on the up or the down pushbutton.
iMPorTanT: unlock the module by means of a 23 short press sequence before starting to configure it.
2) intermediate position
An intermediate position can be configured (e.g. with the slats open). In order to do this, close the shutter completely and then open it to the required
intermediate position. Short press 5 times to store the position. From now on, press twice (2 short presses) to take the shutter to the previously stored
position from any current position (closed, open or in between).
3) Daily scheduling
Daily scheduling automatically opens and closes the shutter at the two times of day that the user prefers. The MVR500E module has an internal clock.
This clock does not need to be adjusted.
Daily scheduling of closing time: short press 8 times at the time of the day at which when you want to close the shutter.
Daily scheduling of opening time: short press 9 times at the time of the day at which when you want to open the shutter.
Daily scheduling of intermediate position: short press 7 times at the time of the day at which when you want to set shutter to the intermediate position.
Simply short press 10 times to delete all scheduling.
Example: short press 8 times at 9:30 p.m. to close the shutters every day at that time.
Simply short press 22 times to deactivate the possibility of setting daily schedules. The user can no longer schedule daily opening, closing or immediate
position operations (this is recommended for installations in the services sector).
Note: The MVR500E will clear all daily scheduling in case of blackout. The required time configuration must be repeated. Alternatively, an external timer
switch or dusk sensor may be connected by means of the CVI34 accessory (Code 5454806), as shown in the figure.
4) How to restore default settings
Short press 25 times to restore default settings. The module will perform the following actions in sequence: delete all daily scheduling, delete the
electronic limit switches, enable inverted movement in case of overload, set motor torque to low, delete up and down wire logic reversal, enable daily
scheduling, enable limit switch and motor torque control.
5) How to block the module
Blocking the configurations prevents accidentally changing the module settings in case of repeated presses. The module is not blocked when it leaves
the factory.
Short press 21 times to block the module. The module will no longer respond to configurations made using short press sequences from 12 to 27. An
exception is the 23 short press sequence, which allows to remove the block. The module will respond again to configurations set using short press
sequences from 12 to 27.
