3. TRANSPORT, HANDLING AND INSTALLATION

3.1. Transport and handling

The filters are delivered properly protected and packaged on a pallet, to facilitate the unloading and the handling
with a forklift, a crane, etc. The buyer (or its authorized professional) must check, at the reception of the filter, the
integrity of the internal and the external parts of each filter (laterals, collectors, diffusers, lid, connections,
etc.). Any incidence must be communicated before the storage or the installation of the filter, to use the
pertinent warranty. It must be done before the 6
For all movements done with the aim of bringing the filter to its working location, we recommend:
To use the appropriate holding devices to ensure the safety of the filter, the installation and the people
working there.
To ensure the fixation and immobilization of the filter on its pallet.
To ensure that the load distribution is done in the most uniform way.
To keep the filter vertical.
When placing the filter onto the floor, it will be done by avoiding hits or contact with sharps that may
damage the base of the filter.
In the event of needing to put the filter horizontal for its handling, under no circumstances it will be done
without the appropriate protection. In no case the filters will be dragged or will roll on the ground.
It is advisable to keep the original package during all movements of the filter until its working location.
Some filters are provided with lift lugs that can facilitate short movements, always vertical, and sharing the
load uniformly among them. These lift lugs must be used always with the filter empty.

3.2. Location of the filters

The filters are designed to be installed in technical rooms and for those applications described in point 2. Both the
installation and the technical rooms must comply with the pertinent standards and regulations of each country or
region. Furthermore, to avoid possible damages due to flood, a water drain must be installed in the zone where
the filters will be located.
In the event of an outdoor installation, or in any other case different than described before, the filters must be
placed under shelter and with the security, control and maintenance conditions defined by the buyer's part,
ensuring that the filters will be protected from the direct exposition to the sun beams and that the temperature
indicated in the technical datasheets will not be exceeded.
It is the buyer's responsibility to define the technical requirements of its installation, and to adapt, define and
ensure the physical and the chemical needs that may be produced in the filters derived from applications different
from those described in point 2.
We recommend performing periodic inspections to ensure the good state of the filters.

3.3. Installation of the filters

It is recommended to install the same number of pumps than filters, with the necessary Flow rate to achieve the
desired speed inside the filter. Before proceeding to the installation, it is very important to ensure that the filters
have not suffered any damage during transportation.
The steps to be followed to carry out a correct installation of the filters are:
Installing the filters in their end working emplacement.
In the event of having to move the filter after its installation, the indications in the point 3.1 will be
followed, always ensuring to previously carry out a complete emptying of water and filtering
media. Moving the filter with water or filtering media would cause severe damage to the filter,
as well as damages in the installation and potential danger to the workers.
