Dry the couplers.
Lubricate the end (1) of the coupler with hydraulic oil or inject WD-40.
Lubricate the locking ring by injecting WD-40 into the space (2) between the back section and the

Clean the dust caps with running water. Dry the dust cap and treat it with preservative oil.

Hydraulic hoses
Clean the hose with luke warm water and a mild soap solution.
Check the hose for damage and leaks. Replace the hose if it leaks, has kinks, the reinforced cover
is visible or it has blisters or bulges higher than 1 mm. In case of doubt always contact the Holmatro
dealer who can assess the seriousness of the damage.
Replace the hose no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture, regardless of its use and
external appearance. The date of manufacture is part of the test code, the first 4 digits of the test
code specify the date of manufacture of the hose (yymm*****).
8.4.5
Pump rod lock
Check whether the pump rod lock has enough grip to secure the pump rod during transport. Have
the Holmatro dealer repair the pump rod lock if it does not work properly.
8.4.6
Hydraulic oil
Check the hydraulic oil and refill if necessary:
Close the pressure relief valve.
Place the pump vertically with the dipstick opening upwards.
Refill with hydraulic oil to the maximum level.
8.4.7
Oil tank
If the casing did not face downwards during transport, the pump was subject to strong vibrations or the
oil tank was complete empty, air bubbles can occur in the hydraulic oil tank. Air bubbles can cause the
connected equipment to move jerkily. If air bubbles are present, vent the oil tank of the pump.
Set the pressure release handle on the pump to the neutral position.
Place the pump in a vertical position with the refill opening facing upwards.
Release the pump rod lock.
Move the pump rod at least 5 times up and down manually.
Repeat the above step if necessary.
Lock the pump rod using the pump rod lock.
