Inspect general purpose sensor for damage such as cracks or breakage. If
damage is evident, discontinue use of general purpose sensor and contact
CIVCO.
Cleaning the General Purpose
Sensor
1. After each use remove general purpose sensor, discarding single-use
disposable components. Remove visible contaminants from general
purpose sensor surface.
2. Soak general purpose sensor for minimum of 5 minutes in neutral
pH, low foaming enzymatic detergent, such as ENZOL® Enzymatic
Detergent (Johnson & Johnson). If visible contaminants cannot be
easily removed, repeat soaking procedure for an additional five
minutes. Remove general purpose sensor from cleaning solution
and remove any remaining residue with dry wipe. Follow cleaning
solution manufacturer's direction for use and recommendations for
concentration.
Disinfecting and Sterilizing the
General Purpose Sensor
• High-level disinfect general purpose sensor using CIDEX
OPA®
ortho-Phthaladehyde
or equivalent .55% ortho-phthaladehyde-based solution. Follow
manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for concentration,
time of contact and post-process procedure.
• High-level disinfect or sterilize general purpose sensor using CIDEX®
Activated Dialdehyde Solution (Johnson & Johnson) or equivalent
3.4% glutaraldehyde-based solutoin, or a hydrogen peroxide-base
solution. Follow manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for
concentration, time of contact and post-process procedure.
