Installing Your Camera
Note Your computer must have a USB connection and it must be running Microsoft
1. Install the software first! Insert the QuickCam
your computer's CD-ROM drive.
2. If the Setup screen does not display,
• Go to the Taskbar and click Start, then Run.
• Type D:\SETUP.EXE and press the Enter key, where D: is the drive designation
of your CD-ROM drive.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Install the batteries and assemble the camera. After you reboot your system
toward the end of software installation, Setup will prompt you to connect the camera
cable to your computer:
• Remove the camera and its base from the packaging.
• Install the AA alkaline camera batteries in the camera. On the bottom of the
camera, press the battery compartment lid in the direction of the arrow to open.
Insert the batteries as shown in the diagram inside the battery compartment.
Replace the battery compartment lid.
• Mount the camera on the base by pushing the base into the camera.
• On the side of the camera, move the three-position mode switch to the up
position (towards the PC icon), which corresponds to PC-cam mode. In this mode
your computer will be able to detect the camera when it is connected to your
computer via the USB cable. (For more information about the three-position mode
switch and about QuickCam Traveler's camera modes, see "Camera Operating
Modes" further on.)
• Remove the protective cap from the end of the USB cable.
• Insert the USB cable into the camera and
the other end into your computer's USB port.
Cable ends match the opening to which
they connect ensuring easy cable installation.
• Continue to follow the on-screen prompts until
you finish installing the camera.
