Blue Lagoon ProfiHeater
Before installing this device, please read the instructions very carefully.
Application
To raise the temperature of 1 m3 water in 1 hour by 1°C needs about 1.000 kcal. This formula is
only an indication, as the temperature also depends on surface area and any insulation that may
be present. All models have been fitted with an adjustable thermostat that can be regulated up
to 40°C. The heating elements with the temperature probe, as well as the inside of the casing
have been manufactured out of high-quality stainless steel. ProfiHeaters can be connected using
flexible hose (ø 25, 32 and 40 mm) or PVC tubing (ø 50 and 63 mm).
Benefits of the ProfiHeater:
• Built-in heating element with thermostat
• 316L stainless steel body
• Universal fittings included
• Heating water until 40°C
Safety
• Always remove the plug from the socket when mounting, dismantling or servicing the heater.
• Do not use the heater if any of the parts are damaged.
• Switch the heater off when the water is not flowing. Ensure an adequate flow of water at all
times. Insufficient flow can cause the element to overheat and burn out.
Ensure that the apparatus never runs dry. For this reason, always ensure that the ProfiHeater is
installed horizontally, with the inlet and outlet on top.
• The requirements of the Electricity Company must be met when this heater is to be connected
as a permanent feature. If in any doubt, please contact a licensed electrician or the Electricity
Company.
Maintenance
• This heater must never be submerged under water. It must always be installed outside the
swimmingpool.
• The ProfiHeater needs no maintenance. The manufacturer must always do any needed repairs.
The adjustable thermostat must never be opened. All guarantees expire once the thermostat
has been opened.
• The element may not be covered in lime scale or caked dirt. Ensure that the water is free of lime
and place a filter in front of the heating element.
• Prevent air getting into the system. If a part of the element is not covered with water, this
section can become over heated and cause the element to burn out.
• The stainless steel housing of the device is not suitable for salt water baths with a high salt
content. If the salt content is too high, the steel will oxidise and damage the housing beyond
repair.
Installation
Install the ProfiHeater never directly behind the ph controller or salt electrolyse system on your
swimming pool installation. The best place to install this device is directly behind the filter (and
in front of the UV-C device when present).
• The ProfiHeater has 63mm couplings for a glueable connection; glueable adapters to 50mm are
provided. When using PVC tubing ensure that there is no strain on the connection to the frogs.
• Cut the tube connectors to the required length (or use the frogs) and twist these, as well as the
rubber sealing ring, into the 50 mm adapter by hand. Prevent any damage by only using the
connectors and frogs provided.
• Ensure that the apparatus never runs dry. For this reason, always ensure that the ProfiHeater is
installed horizontally, with the inlet and outlet on top. This ensures that there will always be water
in the apparatus, even if the pump should fall out accidentally.
• Connect the pump to the ProfiHeater and switch the pump on. Check the system for flow and
leakage. In case of leakage on the tube connectors, (never force them!) use a piece of Teflon
tape on the thread of the connection.
• Put the plug into the socket and set the thermostat to the desired temperature. As soon as the
set temperature has been reached, the light will go off.

Guarantee conditions
The product is guaranteed against manufacturing faults for 2 years from the date of purchase. No
guarantee can ever be given on the element burning out and causing a short. Guarantee claims
can only be handled if the product is returned post-paid and providing a valid proof of purchase is
included. Guarantee claims which are caused by installation or operating faults will not be
recognised. Defects arising from lack of maintenance do not fall under the guarantee. Guarantee
repairs may only be carried out by the supplier. The supplier can not be held liable for
consequential damage arising from failure, faulty maintenance or incorrect use of equipment.
The guarantee will lapse if extra facilities are added to the product or if changes are made to the
product which are not part of the standard equipment (for example the use of 'third-party'
connectors, cutting off the plug or the drilling of extra holes).
